This is the successor to Windows NT and the predecessor to Windows XP Professional. Designed for business computing. A FAT-32 installation is sometimes preferable to a NTFS install since is com more compatible with another FAT32 install in the dual-boot situation. Windows 2000 Professional provides a higher level of system reliability (meaning that it is much less likely to crash) than NT 4.0 and it is 24% faster than Windows NT 4.0 and 30% faster than Windows 98! It also has a new system safeguard feature that includes "critical file protection" and "system restore". Note: NTFS is faster than FAT-32.
